Not badMade this with 500g of LDME and late sugar addition, fermented at 18 degrees, brewed short to 18l.
Still the mouthfeel of the beer is not very rich.
There is, however, a slightly nutty aftertaste.
On the whole, as for so many darker ales, this one wasn't really to my liking so I won't brew it again. |

Pretty goodUsed this with 1kg of regular malt extract 500g of mizuame and 15g of Fuggles. head retention was fantastic and flavor got better and better with time. Only problem was a slight metalic twang in the aftertaste. Dont know what caused it but I still think it was a great beer. Will brew again |

nut brownused shop recommended DDME and LDME 500/500 and safale 04. after 1 month was sensational , and even better mixed 50/50 with coopers canadian blonde. might get another container and mix both kits and their recommended adjuncts to make 45+ litres |

Absolutely AwesomeTried using this kit to make an Irish Milk Stout (recommended by LHBS). Combined with 1kg Choclate Malt, 500g Dry Dark Malt Extract, 500g Dextrose, 250g Corn Starch, 250g Lactose. Used Wheat Malt to prime in bottles and two weeks later is better than any dark commercial beer I've ever had. Has fantastic dark flavours, moderate caramel flavour with a hint of burnt mocha. Head is great, slightly browned, and quite heavy body and mouthfeel. |

SurprisedNew to the hobby and loving it, this was my third brew out of the ten I have done to date. After my time in the UK I was after a brown ale with English overtones. Composed as follows - kit plus, 500g DDME, 500g LDME, 250g Dextrose, Fuggles hops tea bagged to wort and Safale S04, temp range 22 to 24 degrees, primary for 10 days, direct to bottles, standard prime with white sugar. Start drinking at 2 weeks, now 3 months and keeps getting better, good head, great English flavour, good colour and balance , without being too heavy. Nearly out so will do again very soon with little to no change, perhaps some corn powder. I am surprised at the previous comments, definitely Highly recommended! |

Very disappointedMade by standard method with Brewcraft dark lager conversion kit. Fermented at 21c for 7 days (it did rise to 24 for a couple of days in the middle due to heat wave) and then kegged. After 4 weeks in the keg it has a strange apple like aftertaste that has mellowed over time but is still there. I think the issue is due to the kit yeast and could be improved with a better one but I doubt I'd be bothered to try it again. I was really looking forward to this as I like nut brown ales but this doesn't have any of those characteristics. |

Not quite thereUsed this kit to make an Altbier, along with 500g/500g of Dark and Light dry malt extract. Replaced the garbage kit yeast with a Safale K-97 German Ale yeast, which made an improvement, but its still a little thin. |
