aright for starters

well, not bad for beginners...maybe with a mix of different sugars, would be better...a three for me.

A nice 'Leffe Bruin' clone

I was looking for a clone of the lovely Leffe Bruin. I decided to throw two tins of this extract into a fermenter (without any extra sugar)and used the supplied yeast. The fermentation stoped at a very high SG but I bottled it anyway. First tasting was not very good but good things came to those who wait, and it really came into its own after 6 weeks. The final product is a nice Leffe Bruin clone, but a bit too stong in alcohol terms. I have ordered more of this and might dilute it down a bit more... Over all a very nice Belgium Double beer
Morgans Royal Oak Amber Ale George January 21st 2011

Royal Oak Amber Ale

Made this one up as per a recipe on the Brew Cellar website: kit, 1kg Brew Cellar #15 Ultra Blend + 150g Dextrose, 12g Fuggles. I used Nottingham dry yeast. Supposed to be a clone of Kilkenny. I have no idea if it tastes like Kilkenny, because I've never had one - in fact, I'm not sure it's available here in the States. However, it produced a very nice beer, with a nice tan head that leaves a lot of lace. Nice mouthfeel, malty and flavorfull. The Fuggles that I used were a bit old, will use fresher ones next time - and there WILL be a next time. Very happy with this brew!

Ditch's Stout

Made this one up to a recipe from a UK home brewing site. The recipe is quite simple: one tin of OS Stout, 1KG dary dry malt, kit yeast - thats it. Made up to 21 litres, about 5 US gallons. One option is to add a "mug full" of plain sugar, but I decided not to. Brewed at 68F [20C] for 10 days then bottled. Tasted one - well, OK, two, after 4 days and it was already fantastic. Roasty, toasty, with licorice tones - and I don;t even like licorice! Strongly recommended recipe.

This is a STOUT!

Wow, this is definitely one of my favourite brew kits, have done 4 of these now! Each has been a little different but all have been great. Mostly done with stock yeast and Brew enhancer II up to 21 L which has yielded consistently creamy, rich, almost coffee like brew with a fantastic after-taste. Have also added brigolo (was skeptical but it paid off) hops tablet (50%) in each of two brews which definitely added extra hops to the mix. My dad thinks it is too strong with this but I think its fantastic. Finally have done a brew with a single or double espresso shot in each bottle and let me tell you this was WAY TO MUCH coffee the double shot ones was like drinking beer flavoured coffee so I would recommend less but it was interesting. Anyway highly recommended with BE2!

Diabolo

Howzitgaun? this is a great homebrew! very like a commercial belgian beer. My FV was in use so i got an old plastic bucket that had cattle lick or something in it previously.. Sterilised it totally, threw this in with clingfilm over & a coupla holes stuck in it for the c02 & a big lid over that. bottled a week later 4 wks later have just sampled a bottle very smooth but can taste the atomic strength as well!! good Beer!!

Coopers Australian Pale Ale James January 6th 2011

Certainly Drinkable

Aussie Pale Ale kit, 500g LDME and 500g BE1. Fermented at 19C-21C. Nice colour and taste, I would probably add aroma hops next time round, but that would not be to this style. Overall very nice easy brew, great session beer for with the mates, and will certainly be making again!

Beer

Hi all, brewed this with an extra kilo of light spraymalt to 24•c on the button. Used s-04 as the supplied yeast looked a wee bit paltry.& read good things about safale s-04. All true! Used supplied hop bag with approximately 5l of the wort boiled for 5-10 mins just to add a leetle' flavour. Took a long time to cool down to the 24•c limit of the yeast & by the time it had cooled down didn't oxegenate very much & pitched straightaway. Didn't kick off for about 30hrs but fermented steadily for about 4 days with a krausen like a Bainin Aran Sweater!Thick & creamy just wanted to stick my finger in & taste it! Popped open the lid a crack & it smells like beer heaven. GOOD

A brilliant first choice

Bought this for my first attempt at brewing beer as it's the father-in-law's favourite. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to taste it as I drank it all myself, it was great! I had a pint of Wherry from a nearby pub and can honestly say I preferred mine although I think this was because of the Muntons Beer Enhancer I used gave it a sweetness which worked for me. Very simple, great results, I honestly couldn't believe it was something I made myself!

decent

Made this approx 2 years ago as per instructions. turned out nice after a few months very belgian tasting. Found a bottle that was hidden for the 2+ years but it wasnt much different from the rest of the batch. good if you like leffe bruin etc
Coopers Australian Pale Ale brianoc January 2nd 2011

needs more hops

made this twice . once with beer kit enahncer and it turned out ok. like a crossover bland lager/ ale. Second time was with cascade hop tea , makes a big difference and moves it from 2.5 star to 4.5 star. you could tweak this kit to be 5 star easily with a few grains and aroma hop, must try it with recultured cooper yeast

A cold temperature brew

1 can made up to 20 l with a bag of BE2 and a Hallertau finishing hops teabag steeped for 5 minutes then added to the wort. A cold Melbourne winter took the average temperature to about 13 deg and took the brew time to 4 weeks. 3 months later it's tasting great with a nice nutty taste. OG 1044 FG 1012

Black Rock Lager

Black rock lager(green can, I believe that in Australia there are 2 varities sold) and 1kg dextrose has done me fine for the last 8 years brewing in hot summer conditions. And I tried almost all availabe products (worts?) sold here.

Jailbreak ps3

Jailbreak ps3 I recently downloaded some clips on keepvid.com. I can watch them all I want in Quicktime Player, but what I really need to be able to do is put them in iMovie and also edit them. How can I do this? for free? __________________ Jailbreak ps3

Festa Pale Ale

I brewed half of the batch in a typical brew bucket and half under pressure in 2L bottles with relief caps. All I can say is Wow! this is an excellent pale ale. Well hopped, excellent flavour and smell. The pressure brewed batch tasted much better to me since it had fewer esters and that appeals to my palate. The other half was great too and I'm sure will appeal more to those who like a more complex ale. I recommend this big time. A word of warning, the Nottingham yeast will produce lots of banana flavours if the temperature geta above 75 F. Cheers!

Festa Pilsener

Brew this under pressure (15 psi) and you will fall in love with the taste of this pilsener! I will buy this again and brew it for our summer party.
