Coopers Canadian Blonde John B November 6th 2010

A great all round beer

Brewed from the kit using 1 kg brew enhancer 1 + 500 grams of Dry Malt. 5 days in primary at fermenter 23C degrees then straight into the bottle. It's been 7 days in the bottle and just open one up to have a taste. BOY WAS I IMPRESSED. A very clean and crisp taste. The extra 500 grams of dry malt gives it a very smooth feel on the palate and the typical style of Norther Beers provides than nice spicy hop finish that lingers on the palette for ages after the last sip. Beer slightly under carbonated (as would be expected from a 7 day old beer) but most of the basic elements are certainly there in the beer. Looking forward to tasting it at 6 months. If I'm getting this sort of flavour profile so soon I can't wait to see what is still to come. Will surely brew again!!!

Little Creatures Pale Ale Clone

Used this as a base kit for a Little Creatures Pale Ale clone recipe based on a famous internet recipe (thanks Boonie). Mixed kit with 1 can of light malt, 250g of dry wheat malt, 30g each of chinook and cascade hops, brewed at 20degC with US05 yeast. So close to the real thing you will need a side-by-side to tell the difference

I like my beer like my women

Being a rookie brewer--I've only made hard cider--I thought this turned out pretty tasty. I followed all directions, although used Safale US-05 Ale Yeast instead of the kit's yeast. Also used no sugar, instead twice the amount of malt (1 kg sugar = 2 kg extra malt). Made a very flavorful dark ale--my first batch in the cornelius keg.
Muntons Bock Beer Simon Birch October 31st 2010

Bock Bier

Made with a muntons beer kit enhancer. Not sure what other reviews mean by the "smokey" flavours as this is the most tasteless berr I've made from a kit. Avoid at all costs.

Found teh beer for summer

Great beer, followed instruction but used brew sugars. 7 days in primary 7 days in secondary tempreture on the low end approx 18. SG 1043 ferment down to 1008. 4 weeks in the bottle so far. I have done this beer before it is great for having very cold at the end of a hot day the missuses even likes it and the neighbours think it is great. A very cheap lawnmowing beer that will suprise you.

Brown ale

Brewed the same recipe as the first reviewer. After 2 months it was really tasty. Going into it's 4th month and the beer is losing it's character. Nevertheless,a good full-flavoured brown ale.
Coopers Traditional Draught IanK October 29th 2010

Coopers Traditional "Ale"

A tin of Coopers Traditional Draught that was about 6 months past it's best by date, a tin of Bacchus & Barley Light Malt, and some fresh yeast. It turned out totally unlike what I was expecting; I have an exceptionally pleasant almost-red ale with a thick creamy head. Been in the bottle for 3 months, and improving all the time.

Not bad

Made this with Brewcraft Converter Kit #60 and Saflager 23 yeast. Not bad, but not brilliant. The dryness seems to overpower most of the flavours.

Great beer. light and refreshing. hints of fruit. we brew with brew enhancer 15 or 1.5kg of light malt. add 25 grams of halatua and 25 grams of cascade hops. i know people who had added 100grams and then dry hopped it. comes out much like a little creatures pale ale. the sediment can be slightly mixed it you want it cloude and it still tastes great! we use safale yeast - but hear its better with saflager at a colder temp and longer ferment.

Part of a Toucan

Brewed with the Coopers Original LAger that comes with the kit. Fermented 14g of Goldings hops, some boiled cocoa and star anise, and 1/2 a vanilla bean steeped in 30mL vodka. Used US04 yeast at 18degC for 4 weeks. Awesome brew, excellent head retention, nice carb, dark red/brown colour. Very good body, nice balance. Definitely recommend

Great Kit

Brewed this kit with the Coopers Microbrew kit. Was done according to instructions and I used 1KG of Dextrose. It produced a highly drinkable beer that is very fresh tasting. Mine does have a slight apple/hard cider taste but that is due to the dextrose and the more I bottle age it, the more the apple/hard cider taste dissipates. If I had to do it again I would use Dry Malt Extract however I am happy with the results. To me it has the mouthfeel of Budweiser but a more clean, crisp taste with a hint of the signature Coopers taste. OG on mine was 1.040 and I ended with 1.010.

Oops

Mediocre rating probably my fault. Per instructions but with safale s-04 @ 18C for 2 wks. Also added 12g POR finishing hops (Morgans tea bag), largely on strength of previous reviews. Danger, Will Robinson. POR is notorious for good reason and the result was quite over the top. Coopers use pretty much only POR and there are a couple of worts where they're strong to begin with - guess this is another one.

And again

A year on, this time with a Morgan's Saaz teabag, Saflager s-23 @14C 4 wks. After 4 wks in the bottle I compared it blind with a hoarded bottle of the last batch and cold not pick the difference. Dry and delicious. The last review didn't do it justice - to my taste, top of the lager list.

Still available

The lads at Still Brewing still sell this by post. Used the kit to dress up a Coopers draught and it is still a winner. Love the bitter aromatic finish.

Brewed this one in 2008 & drank the last one recently. Keeps well! Brewed it at 13C for 3 wks, 2ndary at same temp for 5 wks. Contrary to other reviews posted here, I found it plenty bitter for a pils. Smooth finish. Very pleasant.

I don't get it

Sorry, team, I found this stuff quite unremarkable. Personal taste? Faultless and smooth, malty (like all Muntons) and quite dull. Great head but it reminds me of drinking Snowcap creaming soda.
Coopers India Pale Ale (IPA) BL October 17th 2010

Coopers IPA

Very good kit. I brewed with BE2 and added fuggles hops (tea bag) at around 21 degrees for 10 days in fermenter. Smelt great when bottling (FG around 1008). Have been in bottles for 2 weeks now. Have tasted it now and is the best brew I have ever made. Will be my stock standard brew from now.
Coopers Mexican Cerveza brew,ster October 11th 2010

smooth drinking

this was the first time i made this kit, have to say its a great clone of mexican brews, i used just dextrose and fermented it at a lower temp (18C) it turn out great. would surely make again.next time i will try DME and see how the result differ.
