Worst. Ever.Hands down, the worst beer I have ever brewed. It tasted disgusting after two months, three months and six months. I even left one for a year to see if it would improve. It didn't. A mate put one of these down and his was equally as awful. |

spicy crap!!!!!!I have just thrown away my 3rd batch of Spicy crap, you would get better tasting beer by scraping the barnacles from the bow of the Titanic , never again will I waste my time and brilliance on this rubbish again. |

Not goodBrewed as per instuctions, fermented at about 22 deg. This came out tasting very average after 4 weeks in the bottle. We had a blind tasting at our work homebrew club and this scored lowest by far with some very unflattering comments. |

Not greatPut it down in a keg after fermentation. Tried after two weeks in the keg but metallic sulphur taste. Will leave a few more weeks in the keg but may have to throw this one out. What a waste!! Brewed a Beez Knees before that which was outstanding. |

Not a bad brewThis tasted nothing like the description on the can, however, I really liked it. I used Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 and I live in the tropics so it brewed in summer at about 28c and when bottled was stored in the spare room at whatever temp that was, fairly high I'd think. But I'd make it again. |

spicy ghostI put this kit down 6 weeks ago, and i must say it's not the beer for me. I find a beer with a spicy flavour rather odd, just didn't enjoy it at all. Niether did the other home brewer drinking it with me. Maybe it'll get better with time, but I wont hold my breath. Father will drink it though, so it's not a total waste. |

not quite rightNot sure about this one, not having luck with any of the cascade range, the supplied yeast seem to grumble about having to drink it. This one seems affected by autolosys because I'm lazy, good news is I drink just about anything. Look, if it was one of my first brews I wouldn't complain, but I've been spoilt with much better. With better yeast and maybe steeped grains and dry hopped you would possibly have something special. But in reviewing the kit as it stands, not recommended. |

Value +After 4 brews its now my fave. The cans have a ring-pull and a Bohemian yeast that I've used at 10degC. The can blurb claims the Ghost is "wheat inspired" but there is no reason to assume that there is any wheat malt in it, or even any connection with the Tasmanian brewery. However this CUB kit has plenty for guzzlers of Cascade Draught and Carlton Draught, beers I quite like (I'm no elitist) so long as the latter is brewed south of the Murray. The kit will yield a tasty, light-coloured draught, and you can easily beef-up the colour with a little added crystal and choc, and give it a finishing hop lift. Great value, flexible and consistent. |

No luckNo matter what I try with the Cascade kits they all seem to turn out very sulphury and undrinkable, I have tried most of the range and at first thought it was something I was doing wrong,ie: infection, but I have never had a problem with any other brand. Anyone got any thoughts??? |

Good base for Golden AleUsed it with Wyeast 1007 + 1kg extra pale LME + 0.7kg dextrose. Primary at 70F for 8 days. Lagering at 45F. Added finings before bottling. Clear pale golden colour with big lasting white head. Plenty of body yet crisp. Subdued hop aroma is accentuated by yeast-generated fruity esters. Light malt sweetness with slightly bitter finish. All in all, very quaffable but not without character. Judging from other reviews, this kit probably needs good yeast to make it show its characters. |

Spicey ?????Made this with 2kg of Liquid Malt Extract and kit yeast. Primary for 6 days @ 19*c Secondary for 5 days. Tastes ok after 1 month in the bottle. I don't think this brew is anything like the marketing hype on the can. The brew is definately not spicey, but very drinkable and simple. Probably wouldn't make again |

Cascade pretty goodUsed the base wort with 1 kg Coopers liquid malted wheat. Bottled after 14 days with FG 1010. FG seemed a little high but would not go any lower. Tasted after 17 days in the bottle. Beer was clear and a golden colour. Tasted very nice. Does not have very good head retention at this early stage. I believe this will get better with age. |

Casper the GhostUsed Cascade spicy ghost draught as the base, with 500g dry light malt, 500g Dextrose & 250g malto dexrin, 20L spring water. 21g Cascade Bohemian yeast & fermented at 14C for 7 days. Straight from fermenter to keg, conditioned in fridge for 2 days at 2 Bar pressure. After 4 days, one of the nicest quaffing beers that I have tasted. Must do another one very quickly. |

Good, but not like they said it would be.We made one of these up with nothing special added, just a kilo of light dried malt. This was being brewed for a reason and we were really after a simple distinctively flavoured beer. It was well looked after, racked to secondary after 4 days, bottled 3 days after that. Came up very clear and good head retention, but try as we might we cannot find anything in the taste that bears resemblance to the description on the outside of the can. Would try it again with some added hops in the fermenter |
