Wonderful. Better than that stuff from DublinI've absolutely loved the results from the Muntons Gold Docklands Porter. I had some friends over and they were in raptures about it. One had just come back from a trip to Dublin drinking the locally produced tipple and said it was far better than that! Brewed according to the instructions, nothing altered or added and 80g Brewing sugar added into the pressure vessel. 2 weeks fermenting at 19C, then 2 weeks warm in pressure barrel with 80g brewing sugar, then 2 weeks in the garage at about 5C. Brought back to room temperture to serve. Rich and dark with good body and lovely creamy head. Quite like stout rather than porter.
After 2 Woodfordes Wherry and 2 lots of Nelson's I've got the next lot of Muntons Gold Docklands Porter fermenting now and almost tempted to just brew that as it's so lovely. Definitely recommend.
Based on my experience keeping it standard and the results and appreciation received I really don't understand some of the other less enthusiatic reviews. a homebrew friend has also just brewed another porter kit and remarked that it's not as good as mine. |
