great in the hot weatherBrewed in a 60L fermenter in really hot weather 30-40 degrees and then kegged in 50L kegs( live in the Pilbara ). I have tried both the special lager and the dry lager, the dry is much nicer in my opinion especially on a hot day. Usually 2 cans and 2KGs dextrose gives it a nice clean, crisp finish and you can drink it all day very refreshing. I have tried with the packet yeast and also proper lager yeast, both turn really well even in the hot weather. |

Good SuzzlerWas on special for 8 dollars so I amde it up with a Brigalow Mid Strength mix ( 500g of Dextrose and Corn I think) and 500g LDM. Used tin yeast. After about a month it is an acceptable hot weather thirst quencher. Nothing complex. It worked out better then I thought. For the price and for a fishing or gardening stubby not too bad. |

so this was only my second kit made and done to the exact kit instructions. While its better then the first one still not a good beer. Smells fantastic and looks like beer but definetly not one to be brewed again | |||

for light tasting enthusiastsBrewed with 1kg of dextrose only, no bells or whistles at 22-26 deg cel for 6 days, bottled for two weeks, is very drinkable at this stage in contrast to the coopers lager which is still very strong in fruity in flavour at 4 weeks, good for those who like light tasting beers to be guzzled quickly in the heat. |

Good but have to waitHowdy. Temp was rather high when I brewed this 26-28 degrees.Brewed to 20 litres, coopers brew enhancer 2, kit yeast. Primary 7days, secondary 7 days finings used. At 3 weeks in bottle yuk but at 6-8 weeks very nice refreshing beer will do again. |

average to poorAs a basic kit it is boring and as a modified kit it doesn't get any better. Its price has led me to use it as a base but without success. No comparision to Coopers or Gold Rush. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra 5 bucks for a better kit of drinkable beer. |

Great LagerHave brewed this 3 times. First brew was with 750g of dextrose, using yeast provided. Matured 90 days in bottles then drank over 2 week period at Xmas 2004. Lovely beer, great taste and easy drinking. 2nd and 3rd brews were put down with 1kg of Light dry malt and Hallertau finishing hops and using Saflager yeast. Much better mouthfeel and good aroma of hops. Would be one of my favorite Lagers. |

Tooheys LagerKit yeast was yeasted. No airlock activity. Spraymalt was used instead of sugar. Colour is light copper with chill haze. Distinctly malty aroma at 3 weeks. Malt aroma is rather faint at 5 weeks. Mountfeel is light as only 1kg of Spraymalt was used. Flavour is crisp and dry without trace of hop, butterscotch or fruit. Primed with 4/5 cup of cane sugar, it has a bit too much carbonic bite. Overall, it is not one to be brewed again. |

Tooheys LagerMy first brew so followed directions to the letter. Ferment temp ranged from 18-24 degrees. Contacted Tooheys who advised lagering to improve taste further. Unfortunately, because the lagering bottles are cold, most have been consumed as its a very approachable beer. At 20 weeks there is very little on the nose to indicate a home brew |

Tooheys LagerHave been brewing this lager in the tropics for some time as per instructions.Three cans to 3 kg dex.Supplied yeast,re-hydrated.Recently started CC.Find it a very satisfying keg beer after 3 weeks and getting better at 5 weeks. Will commence extract soon and will revise.I do not bottle from CC but sometimes from the keg.Aged lager has not been tested as yet.The quality is consistent throughout, and no failures. |
