Tooheys Draught - The Next LevelI used the base kit, S-04 yeast, 500g LDME, 350g Dextrose, 150g crystal grain steeped and sparged, 10g of Cluster hopping boiled for 20min and another 10g dry in the fermenter for a half-week before bottling. The result was a good, simple ale that couldn't be faulted too much. It was mid-boded and low-bittered but had good hopping levels for your average drinker and had sublte hints of the grain. It made a good session beer and looked the part too with a nice head and reddish colour. A good kit, even with stock yeat. I'd do it again for sure. |

Tooheys DraughtKit was brewed with Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 [500g Dextrose, 250 each of Maltodextrin & Light Dried malt Extract] and 10g Cluster hops simmered for 10 minutes. Fermented with kit yeast at 18-20'C, and after 3 weeks has become a nice drinkable brew. Not bad at all in my opinion, and if you're a fan of Tooheys New then this is the place to start - easy, cheap & very drinkable. If this kit isn't treated well it will be ordinary, so be warned! 4 stars. |

Surprisingly DrinkableFound the kit on special for $8 so I thought why not. Made with 1kg BE2 and 200g yellowbox honey for some extra flavour. Used kit yeast and fermented for 7 days at 20c then kegged. This has come out as a surprisingly good beer. Nice creamy head and a hint of honey flavour that is getting stronger as it matures. Not the best I've had but certainly worth doing again for the money. |

tooheys newforgot to pick up a kit from the homebrew shop and ended up getting a couple of these from the supermarket. 2*tins, plus 1 kg dextrose, plus 1 kg brew sugar, plus 500g light malt, plus 5 drops of liquorice extract(leftovers). final volume of 48 litres. fermented for 5 days then kegged. much better than expected and bloody cheap. pretty damn close to tooheys new. |

KeggedFermented at 21.5 degrees with Brewiser #20 kit. Kegged, improved after 2 weeks.Excellent head retention (due to #20) A little bitter aftertaste but drinkable. Probably won't buy it again unless I'm broke. |

No success with TooheysAweful stuff avoid like the plague. Have tried this Kit 3 times now. Straight & modified. Even as a base for experimentation it failed. Boo! Not the worst but close. |

My 4th BrewMade this up with 1kg of dextrose and supplied yeast. Unremarkable flavour and poor head retention. Did not improve with age....should be drunk young maybe?? |

DrinkableMy first kit (came with the equipment) brewed with the 1kg brewiser liquid sugar that also came with it and the kit yeast. Primed and bottled, 9 weeks later it has a very thin head, light carbonation and an unusual but not unpleasant taste. Drinkable, but not something i would want to recreate. Would probably benefit greatly from better yeast and better fermentables. |

TooheysAgree with Voosher. Have made to brews with 2kg of Liquid Malt. Very Good after 6 months. Not kit to make if you want to drink early. More hops would help possibly. |

A good start, but needs help.Toohey's draft with 500g liquid malt, 750g Dextrose, 250g Corn syrup and the standard yeast is still insipid until about 3 months. Then it improves to barely fair. However, it improves greatly with good yeast. Recultured Cooper's yeast makes a big difference. Second big improver was a fistful of aromatic hops. Have tried Cascade and Goldings from 15g to 60g and depending on personal preference for hops makes a big difference. The kit alone gets a 2, but with help it's capable of 4 star brews. |

A little boringrun of the mill boring kit beer similar to homebrand in my opinion. Would be nicer if adding malts and hops. |

Tooheys DraughtIve brewed one of these with the brewiser "body brew" enhancer/sugar bag. fermented in the bathroom at home at around 22oC. It was a tasty drop after several weeks(4-6) in the bottle. It was worthwhile, so much so that the wife is going to brew the lager version of this kit |
