Broke My Grumpys Virginity. This was the first Grumpys i ever made. It put me on the straight and narrow, away from basic kit and kilos. To say it was delicious, is an understatement. Thats all i remember. Delicious beer. Im going to have to revisit this one. As it was the beer that turned the corner for me. |

roasted joyMade to spec (+ 200g of wheat DME) with supplied S-33. 6 days in primary(19-21degC), 8 in secondary(19-21degC) and 7 in CC (4degC). Bulk primed with 200g wheat DME. 4 weeks in bottle and tasting superb, cant wait for the 2 month tasting! great full body and a nice smokey irish flavour! (the missuz loves it) very decent head that subsides slowly with drinking. enjoy |

Nice DropGrumpy's have put a nice one together with this master brew. I did it with their 25ibu Liquid Malt Extract and the Safeale provided. Had a few problems getting out all the extract from the grains resulting in a low SG, but this did not effect the result one bit. I did a secondary ferment and bulk primed, but skipped CCing this time. A very nice drop which is disappearing very quickly from the fridge. |

Terrific drinkingHad a session on this yesterday with three non-homebrewing mates. After three months in the bottle it had a distinctive reddish-brown colour and nicely balanced malty character. It was made using the ingredients as supplied by Grumpys, fermented at 22C, racked and bulk primed. I have not tasted a genuine Irish Beer, so can't compare it with that, but all of us rated it a top beer. Three more converts to homebrewing after tasting this one. |
