Not bad.I bought this one from woolies for around $8 and used Coopers Brew Enhancer instead of sugar. It turned out pretty weak tasting, but still okay to drink. Probably about as good as a VB or NEW. Can't argue with the price. |

Two Can HomebrandI used two cans of this Homebrand Lager homebrew with a T-58 Belgian Yeast and a 15gram bag of Morgans tetnangar finishing hops and 23 litres of water. I forgot about it. It's now 12 months old. I gave it to a freind to try who really loves Hoogarden beer and said said it tastes fantastic. I really like it myself. |

Toucan Homebrand LagerSame old story - two cans bought cheap, and bunged in the fermenter with US-05 yeast. Came out quite well, with a crisp finish to the taste. Only improves with age. 3 stars. |

SurprisedWas pleasantly surprised by this kit. Nothing special, but no where near as bad as I thought it would be. In hindsight if I used again I'd rack to secondary, some of the hops were floating around in the bottles. Yeast did it's job, and the end result tasted like beer. Be a good base for the more frugal brewer to experiment with. Gonna try a two can next and add some hops. |

cheap & drinkableI bought 2 tins of this for $5 each, added them together in the fermenter, filled it to 23.5 lts, added both yeast sachets, fermented it for 8 days @ 23 degs. left it for 4 months, called it beer & drank it. Its wasnt the greatest beer of all time but a long way from the worst. $10 well spent. |
