better than store bought version once hopped with Northern Brewer :)this is my go2 recepie for lighter colour refreshing tasty ass beer. 2weeks in primary with kit yeast, and 1kg BE3. Then add 40g Northern Brewers Hops in hop tea form (steep in just boiled water no longer than 10 min in big cofee plunger, its a bitter kit so it can take it :). transfer to keg, cold crash (in keg) and carbonate. Result: 21 ltr of Utter beer nirvana. |

The best of them all.I first brewed this kit using only 1kg Super Brew (Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Light Malt) just to see what it would be like without the usual pimping with malty sugars and extra hopping. I did use Safale S04 Ale yeast instead of the sachet of yeast that comes with the kit. After at least two months' bottle conditioning the result is a crisp, tasty beer that never fails to quench the thirst of the discerning beer-swiller. I'd have to say this has become my favourite kit. It can be improved with the addition of at least 50g hops. I am now using Amarillo, Pride of Ringwood, Citra, Centennial, whatever I think might be interesting. As I have said in other reviews, these kits (whilst otherwise great - especially the Coopers ones) are chronically underhopped and its necessary to add at least 2g hops for every litre of brew. This in my opinion really is the best of all the Coopers kits I have made so far and I strongly recommend it. |

Cooper's Sparkling AleBrewed using the instructions on the can/Cooper's website. I also added a hop tea of 12 gms of Summer Saaz pellets. This makes a very smooth easy drinking ale which improves with age. Can't really fault it and would definitely make this one again. |

Sparkling wonderfulHave brewed this twice. First time at ~25C ambient. Some unpleasant flavours, and too strong. Nor did it improve. Second time at 18C, about as low as practical with the Coopers yeast. I agree with JD - needed extra hop but I used 12g Cascade for finishing. Also, left out the dex - over 5% ABV without it. Result wonderful. Compared to its namesake, maltier, hoppier, cteamier head. Just love it. Why did others say it needs time? Was good right from the end of 2ndary. |

Sparkling aleBrewed at 22C with 600g dextrose, 200g corn syrup & 400g LDME. Used kit yeast, tastes just like the real thing, and the wife likes it, so a big plus. If you like sparkling ale this is an excellant kit. |

MaltyBrewed this one with 1 x can of Morgan's Lager Pale Extract + 500g LDM + 250g Dex. Fermented at 18C~21C for 10 days. Very malty with clean finish. The maltiness stands out and gives the impression of heaviness. For me 2 glasses of this in one sitting is enough flavor wise. I would add POR hops next time to "cut" through some of the maltiness. Still excellent beer ! |

A nice beer, but...Made this up with Sparkling Ale beer kit, 1.5kg Light Malt Extract, 500gm Light Dry Malt Extract, and some Dextrose. This is the contents of the package from MakeBeer.net. Now, the kit was a bit out of date, but not by much. The result is more malty and less hoppy than the commercial product. In and of itself, it's still a very nice beer, but not what I was expecting. I will try this one again, and shoot for getting it made before the expiration date - and maybe add some hops. Suggestions, anyone? Thanks! |

Very niceI purchased the kit off makebeer.net and I am thankful that read all the advice posted. This was the 3rd batch that I brewed and by far the best and the one factor that was pointed out a few times is let it age. I did try it after 3 weeks after botteling and there wes a very heavy malt flavor and I was kind of dissapoianted at first, but after letting it age 3-4 month WOW is all can be said about this kit. I even it has been ranked as one of my all time faves the only down side it making sure I do not run out and it has proven to be very popular on my block. Nice work every one at Coopers |

Coopers Sparkling AleThis was made up as per the tin directions, following them to the letter. The tin contents plus 1500g liquid light malt, 500g light dried malt, 300g dextrose and the stock yeast were made up to 23L and fermented at 21-23'C. Bottled of after 7 days and let sit for a month, after which it provided an absolutely marvelous beer with quite a kick. I honestly think this beer is a good addition to anyones stores, give it a shot. Marvelous kit, marvelous recipe. Good work, Coopers ;D |

pretty damn goodPut this kit down with 1.5kg Coopers Pale malt tin, and 750g BE2 because no LDME at the supey (i really should have just waited a week or so) and 12g Cluster (steeped 20 mins for aroma), and recultured coopers pale yeast. After 3 months is an awesome beer, and only going to get better. Very yeasty, malty, and the cluster adds a little character. Needs maybe a month to smooth out more edges, but gee this is a good kit beer |

coopers SPAmy 2nd brew after a 10 yrs break, 1 can Coopers SPA, 500g LME, 250g dextrose, SafAle yeast, 20g Saaz steeped for 10mins then into mix, filled to 23L. Only aferwards did my brain click that this will be quote weak, I forgot the extra 1kg of LME!! Brewed at 18-20C for 7 days, bulk primied with 190g castor sugar then bottled. After 2 weeks, it tasted watery, lacked body, but pleasant saaz taste, after 2months it has mellowed and become more balanced - as easy drinker. Shame about the yeast sediment. |

UnbeatableMade with 1kg LDME, 200g dex, 25g Tettenanger @15 min, 20g E.K. Goldings at flameout, US-05 yeast up to 21 ltrs. Fermented at 18c for 7 days, kegged and drinking a few days later. Fabulous beer with great body that isn't going to last long. Best of the Coopers range in my opinion. |

OMGAwesome. Brewed as per kit instructions, pitched at around 26deg (OG 1060) and then left at that temp for 2 days until I notice an off odour. I was advised by a workmate to drop temp to 18 - 20 deg. Did so, and finally the odour went away (FG 1014) Bottled and stored for 1 month. Was sceptical about how it would turn out, but oh mamma what a beer. Taste is devine, head retention all the way down. Iam sure that if I have any more than two longnecks I will walking o the ceiling. I have just got to brew again. (doing all the wrong thing the same) |

yeh give it timeUsed kit and yeast with Country Brewer ultrabrew: 500LDM, 250 Dex, 250 Malt/Dextron. Also 60gms of crystal grain malt and goldings finishing hops. At first had no taste but after 9 months one of the best brews, with a light gold tone, good carbonation, wonderful taste and keeps head good. Let the brew age for a while then give it taste, it wont let you down!... |

Coopers Sparkling AleI have made this kit a number of times according to the instructions on the can and using the yeast under the lid or a Safale yeast. Good results each time. This time I propogated the yeast from a couple of stubbies of the commercial Sparkling Ale. Brewed at 18 to 20 degrees for 7 days and then 7 days in secondary. After one month in the bottle it tastes superb - similar to the real thing. I know from experience that this kit gets better with bottle age. |

Needs HopsUsed Morgans 1.5kg Amber ME, 300g LDM, 300g Dextrose, 12g East Kent Goldings Hops and re-cultured Coopers Sparkling Yeast. Simmered fermentables in 2 litres of water for 5 mins for then added hops for several mins at flame out. Fermented at mid 20's. From the start this was easily superior to my first attempt at this kit - really benefits from the hops and re-cultured yeast. Has the same fruity aroma of the real thing, better balance with hops and generally a very good quality beer kit. |

DisappointingMade up kit using ingredients recommended on can and using yeast supplied. Bulk primed and bottled then left 3 months to bottle age. Had 12 bottles detonate on me and then tried brew. All I could taste was malt on top of malt on top of malt. Not my style of beer at all and definately nothing like the bottled brew that I rate as one of the best commercial brews available. |

Be Patient.Made exactly to instructions on the Coopers website. Early on the alcohol taste was quite obvious, but it mellows over time. Very malty (probably too much so for my tastes) and could do with the addition of hops and perhaps a re-cultured Sparkling yeast, but if you can wait, the beer matures into a fine drop indeed. Give it 3 months minimum. |

My 12th BrewI pretty much just followed the kit instructions on this one. The only variation was using 1.5kg of Amber Liquid malt. (Also added 500gm LDM and 300gm Dextrose) This has created a beer that is a bit too malty...it's more like a Newcastle Brown Ale. It would have been better with a lighter malt and some added hops. |

Very Close to CSABrewed this according to instuctions with 1.5kg black rock light liquid malt instead of coopers malt. This turned out very close to the commercial CSA just a little less hoppier. Will try adding some Pride or Ringwood or Cascade hops to this beautifully malty and fruity ale next time. |

get em in the right orderThis kit should come with instructions on the order of adding the ingredients. I mixed the beer kit with the Dry malt and got one awful gluggy mess. So my method is: Dry malt, boiling water - dissolve - dextrose - dissolve - liquid malt - more boiling water - stir - kit - stir - at least 1 kg clean ice, maybe 2 kg in the summer, fill with pre-cooled water from the fridge. Result is a wort temp of around 19 deg for pitching a pre-prepared yeast starter. Makes a great beer though. |

1.056 BoomerI brewed this with fermentables as per instructions, plus 15g of Hallertau. Boiled the LME, DME and dextrose for 20 mins then added the hop flowers for 5 mins, crash chilled in sink full of water and esky ice packs. Fermented on yeast recultured from Coopers Sparkling ale. Fermented two weeks then kegged. Carbonated by rocking the keg 100 times @ 14psi, tasted next day. Not bad but will doubtlessly improve with age. |

Very happy with thisThis is my best so far. Used a kilo of LME and 30g hellertau 5 min boil. Nice colour, good body and OK head. Has a lovely hop aroma and taste. Oh, another factor is that I used Safale dry yeast instead of the supplied yeast. If I was marooned on a desert island with nothing to drink but this, and only a dog and a pig for company, I'd soon develop a philosophical attitude towards my predicament. |

Cascade dry hoppingMade this a couple of times with 1 and 3/4 kg of Muntons amber dme and 400gr of dex, ferm at 18*-20*,1 week in primary than racked until finished, I think the ammount of Cascade pallets used in dry hopping in secondary is the secret of getting it just right, not enough and its bland , around 15gr I think. Great kit if you do it just right. |

Bloody Good DropThis is one of the best kits I've tasted. Followed the kit instructions of 1.5Kg liquid LME, 0.5Kg Dry LME and 0.3Kg Dex. Also added 12Grams POR hops (standard method). Brewed at the mid- high 20's. Turned out a little ripper for such little effort. Was it exactly like the real Sparkling Ale? probably not, but a sensational beer none the less. |
