Good for a CoopersHadn't done a Coopers kit for years so I bought two of these to try. Used Safelager for both. Dry hopped one with Saaz. Both were very drinkable but there are Pilsner Kits out there so much better than this that I can only rate it a 3 out of 5. Good for a Coopers but I wont be buying another Coopers kit in a hurry. |

Excellent LagerBrewed using the base recipe but with Saflager S-23 yeast. I fermented at 14C for just over two weeks and raised to 18C for the last couple of days. The result is an easy-drinking lager with honey notes and a pleasant biterness. It has only been in bottles for two weeks, so looking forward to see how it develops... assuming I don't drink it all first. |

Great dropI have brewed this twice and have not been dissapointed. For a kit this is a bloody great drop. Both times followed the base recipe and added some late addition saaz. Could easily have a keg of this on the go all time. Love it! |

Coopers PilsenerMade as per Coopers instructions using 500g LDM and 300g dextrose. Used the Coopers yeast, which is a lager yeast. I only made the volume up to about 20 litres. It fermented at around 15 degrees centigrade for 12 days then I racked it to another container for 3 days then added a hop tea made up of 21g of Saaz pellets steeped in boiled water for 10 minutes. I kegged it after 3 more days and tried it 3 days later. It is fantastic beer. The aroma and flavour from the Saaz is delicious. This will be my house beer unless I stumble across something better. 5 stars. Next time I will make the full 23 litres and try all malt. |

A better than average extract kitThis was perhaps the best extract kit I have made, although it is definitely not up to the flavour levels of a true Czech style Pilsner. Maybe more of a German one. I dry hopped with about 1/2 an ounce shile in the primary, and it tasted smooth after being in the bottle for about a month. Still lacks head retention, but good colour and okay flavour. Would perhaps take this to 4.5 gallons instead of 5, if I make it again. One good thing about the kit is that this seems to be a proper pilsner yeast that is included in the kit, and not just a generic ale yeast. |

And againA year on, this time with a Morgan's Saaz teabag, Saflager s-23 @14C 4 wks. After 4 wks in the bottle I compared it blind with a hoarded bottle of the last batch and cold not pick the difference. Dry and delicious. The last review didn't do it justice - to my taste, top of the lager list. |

Great tasteThis is a great tasting brew. Fermented for 2 weeks at 16c . I didn't taste after bottling for 2month. Turned out great considering I only used all dextrose. This kit uses a lagar yeast so it has best results at a low fermenting temp. Can't wait to brew again. Will use dme next time. |

Wheaty witty PilsKit+500g dry wheat malt+ Wyeast 3944 yeast at high temps, then after one week add lemon zest and tea made from 20g crushed lemony Indian coriander seeds for another week. Noticed a number of microbreweries use Saaz hops+ Pilsener malt+ wheat malt+ wheat yeast and sometimes citrus in their house Wheat beer. The 3944 ale yeast makes a tart, crisp ale and is refreshing. A nice drop when wheat kits are hard to find and the added wheat malt makes a cloudy pint. |

Na Zdravi'!Per instructions except for Saaz hop plug tea, steeped 10 min. Saflager S-23 at 13-14C 5 weeks. Compared head to head with Muntons Connoisseurs Export Pilsner brewed just prior in the same way. Both very good but, 3 months on, the Coopers wins on style and flavour. |

Coopers PilsnerMade this one first week of Nov '08, so not too hot yet. Followed the kit instructions, using can, 1kg Malt extract blend and hops bag, mixed it all in with 2 litres boiling water, topped up to almost 23 litres. Bottles a week later and left for 2 moths to settle. First tasted about Xmas, was dissapointed with lack of head but had great colour and clean crsip finish. Lack of head may have been also affected by use of used screw cap plactic bottles. But a very good brew. |

Coopers PilsnerMade up using the kit plus 650g light dried malt, 300g dextrose, 10g Saaz boiled for 15min and another 5g boiled for 2min. Kit yeast at 20'C. This produced an easy-going pils with a light, flavoursome and refreshing edge. WHilest not bad, this was nothing out of the ordinary. I'd definitely have another shot at this and perhaps invest in some grains, a few more hops and a good dried yeast such as US-05 or S-189. Either way, a good kit. 4 stars from me. |

Not bad at allMy fourth brew attempt and first with a Pilsner style yeast. Used 500g Munton Light Spraymalt + 300g dextrose and kit supplied yeast. Started OG 1.034 at 20°C and then let drop to 15°C. Racked at day 7, OG 1.008 at 17°C. FG 1.005 at 16°C on day 22 and bottled, adding 180g sugar for priming. Nice light colour, very clear and steady stream of carbonation after pour. Very short-lived white head and oddly, found it tasted a better at 10°C than super cold. |

GREAT pils!1 can Brewmaster series Pilsner and BE2. Boiled 2 US gallons of water, added .3oz Saaz, boiled for 18 minutes, then .2oz Saaz for 2 minutes more, added kit & BE. Kit yeast. This is really good - when I make it again, I'll use a bit more aroma hops. |

variations on a favourite1 Can Coopers Heritage Pilsner 12 g cl-80 hops 10 min boil 12 g Hersbrucker 20 min boil 1kg corn sugar 250g dextrose (hops boil) 200 g dextrose (bulk priming) filtered water to make 24-25 litres A good Aussie twist on a European Pilsner. The cl-80 has POR hops in it. Worthy of my top 10 |

PilsnerPure Gold! Use it as is or modify it if you like this kit has a good yeast supplied and works a treat. Crisp and clean. I will use it again and will push it further with Lagering next time... |
