Dangerous BelgianThis was my 2nd attempt at home brewing and it sat around 23c for 6 days using 1kg brewcraft enhancer and 400g dextrose. Started drinking it far too early as a noob and in the 1st few weeks had the yeasty home brew taste..but it appealed to me and the mates so I have since put 3 more on. 2nd time round I used brew enhancer 1kg dextrose 1kg and 500g clover honey(I strongly recommend this addition)which left great after tastes which complemented/disguised the alcohol level which was estimated at around 8%. Started to trial after 5 days(whoops)all gone in 3 weeks. Hence 2 Fermenters now running each week. Have an experiment with honey and high strength for sure. |

Ale but not BelgianMade with kit yeast and 1 Kg Dextrose - first every brew, got the can as a birthday present with the starter brew kit. Probably brewed a bit warm 26-28ish. Was a successful first brew i.e. was drinkable which was a pleasant surprise. Quite rich and malty, flavour profile got more complex for first 9 months then started to fade (possibly because I'm bottling in PET). Good drinkable Ale but not really a Belgian style beer. |

I like it but...Made with 600g LDME, 400g DDME, 400g Dex, 50g Crystal, 50g Black malt, 30g Tettenanger up to 21 ltrs. Fermented for 10 days, kegged and tasted a week later. Has an unusual but not unpleasant flavour that I quite like. Holds a good head and the aroma is fantastic. The only problem is I've never had a Belgian ale before so I don't know if the taste is authentic but I reckon it's pretty good. |

brewcraft belgianbrewed this kit twice now, the first at room temp (prob ~ 24 C)with 1 KG light dry malt extract and activated kit yeast, the second the same but 1KG dark extract. Both marvellous, big head, great mouth, sweet palate with long dry-ending finish. next time will be with cultured Chimay yeast. |

Leave Belgian beer to the Belgians!Made with just the kit and a body brew, it was bland and lifeless at first, but the fruitiness came out after a couple of months. Of note is its clean finish and fine head, but still tastes like a British attempt at a Belgian Ale, although the fruitiness is a nice touch. I expect it would be better as an all-malt brew. |

Lovely IndeedLovely, made with kit yeast + 500g light, 250 grams maltodextrin, 250 grams dextrose, brewed @ about 24 degree's for 5 days, then 7 days racked. A new batch is already brewing but added, boiled fruit(nectarines + strawberry's) to enhance fruiteness. Would possibly recommend make to 20 litres for creamier finish rather then 23 litres. |

Belgian AleMade as per recipe subtituting light dry malt for spray malt and using safale yeast. Very nice fruity beer. reasonably dark and a little cloudy but very drinkable all the same. |
