SMOOOOOOKKKEEYYYY!This is a very smokey drop, the more you drink the less smokey it tastes and it takes on a whole new flavour. Great for a BBQ or around a fire. I noticed someone said it is like eating it and I have gotta agree. Some people really like it and some people hate it. I think it is more for the home brewer than the regular drinker, it is likely you are a home brewer and I would be suprised if you didnt like it like I did. |

Made as per instructions with supplied yeast. Was worried that this was going to be a 'gimmick' beer, but to my surprise it turned out to be a nice full-bodied ale with a hint of smokiness to it. Perhaps not something i'd make all that often, but very nice for something new and different! Recommended. |

my intro to smoked beersI made this one up to the kit instructions - add 22L water and yeast. On opening the tin it smelt like someone had lit a bushfire and thrown a leg of ham in it. Very smokey indeed! Came out at about 4.8%, and tasted like you should be eating it rather than drinking it. Very nice around a bbq, but it is definitely an aquired taste. Most friends hate it, but homebrewer mates thought it was a great drop. I reckon it's good to try for something different. |
