Brewcraft Belgian Ale | April 12th 2010
Dangerous BelgianThis was my 2nd attempt at home brewing and it sat around 23c for 6 days using 1kg brewcraft enhancer and 400g dextrose. Started drinking it far too early as a noob and in the 1st few weeks had the yeasty home brew taste..but it appealed to me and the mates so I have since put 3 more on. 2nd time round I used brew enhancer 1kg dextrose 1kg and 500g clover honey(I strongly recommend this addition)which left great after tastes which complemented/disguised the alcohol level which was estimated at around 8%. Started to trial after 5 days(whoops)all gone in 3 weeks. Hence 2 Fermenters now running each week. Have an experiment with honey and high strength for sure. |

Brewcraft Bavarian Wheat | April 12th 2010
1st attemptBrewed as per kit instructions, except used bc wheat enhancer 1kg. Seemed bland right up until I tried the last bottle 5weeks in(no self control)So put a 2nd trial on, 1kg wheat enhancer 600g dextrose, orange peel/coriander pack. Kit yeast 23c 7days ferment. Very drinkeable after 1 week, so has gone into storeage. Very keen to experiment with strength/extra flavour. Must try. |
